Become a Volunteer

The Museum is made up of dozens of volunteers, all committed to the ideals of peace. People volunteer with the museum in many different ways:

  • Lead tours to individuals or group
  • Help raise awareness of the museum
  • Behind-the-scenes help at events
  • Write and secure grant applications
  • Plant flowers!
  • Mentor young people
  • Plan major museum and traveling exhibits
  • Help at the reception desk, greeting visitors, answering questions
  • Help produce original audio/video productions and live performances.
  • Help plan a fundraiser, a dinner, speaker-event, book clubs…

And so much more.

Volunteer Application

Upon receiving this application, a museum staff member will contact you for an interview and discuss ways in which you wish to be involved in volunteering at or for the Museum. Some volunteers work virtually.

As part of the process, we will ask you if you: 1. Have ever been charged, indicted, and/or convicted of a violent or aggravated crime. 2. Grant the Museum permission to conduct a background check according to its policies.

After an interview, volunteers must attend a 1-hour training course that goes over all the policies and procedures for helping us run America’s only peace museum!

Due to the number of applications, the number of volunteer positions are limited. All applications are kept on file for a period of one year. Please check this site frequently for updates.
