Maryam Safajoo is a Persian-American painted based in West Virginia. She graduated with an MFA from Tufts University. Her paintings narrate the stories of the comtemporary situation of the systematic persecution of the Baha'i community in Iran, since 1979.
Her paintings narrate stories from her own experiences and that of people at the actual events. She primarily works from oil on linen and the use of mixed media to maintain historical accuracy. Her collection begain in 2013 and is inspired by the powerful spirit of those persecuted, their steadfastness, and love of humanity.
The exhibit will be on display on September 24, 2022. Free with admission.
