our mission

A group of students, standing on the stage and presenting self-made art work to the camera.

Our mission is to inspire people to work for greater peace, understanding, and compassion through education, dialogue, and collaboration.

The Dayton International Peace Museum is a hub for peace through education, advocacy and collaboration.

our goal

The International Peace Museum was founded on a vision of fostering peace and compassion in the heart of Dayton, Ohio. Inspired by the peace-driven legacy of the Dayton Peace Accords the museum was established in 2004 to provide a space dedicated to transforming our culture of violence into a culture of peace. Our mission is to inspire individuals to work toward greater peace through education and collaboration, highlighting peace as both an outcome and an ongoing process of justice, respect, and understanding. Through exhibits and programs, we aim to spark conversations around human rights, social justice, and nonviolence. Learn more about our story, mission, and goals on our dedicated pages.
