The Miami Valley Peace Maker Award:
Honoring Unrecognized Individuals Who Have Made Significant Contributions to Promoting Peace and Nonviolence Within Their Communities

The 2025 submission deadline is March 24th 2025.

Note from our executive Director

Dear Friends,

This year, the Dayton International Peace Museum is thrilled to announce the inaugural Miami Valley Peace Maker Award - a new tradition dedicated to honoring individuals whose quiet yet profound contributions embody the spirit of peace and nonviolence.

In this first year of the award, we celebrate a milestone moment for the Museum and our community: the opportunity to shine a light on those whose impactful work often goes unnoticed. These unsung heroes demonstrate daily that peace is not just an ideal but a tangible reality we can build together.

The award will be presented during the Season for Nonviolence, an occasion that reminds us all of the incredible change a single individual can inspire. This first ceremony will set the stage for years to come, where the stories of remarkable individuals will inspire others to take meaningful action.

We invite you to be part of this momentous start by nominating someone you know who has quietly yet powerfully contributed to creating a more peaceful community. Let us honor their efforts and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

In peace and gratitude,
